I've got an old Olds cutlass. Good work car, huge trunk, good on gas, dog like it cause it's nice and soft. It likes to get wet. Better show then last year. Had some nice rides. That red truck in the first pic was way cool. Two trucks welded together. Duals in the back, with some super fat lips

Yeah get that 4.3 and send it down here to me. Then get you a gf from one of those potato farmers, and have them get you a 6.0 to put in the 52!

Re: Daverods 52

Oh !! I did not know about the cutlass.. We call the contractors that work out of a car --"trunkers" They carry a few tools around and then they borrow ladders from everyone else:lol::lol::lol::lol:

There was a 54-55 GMC Suburban in the parking lot when I got there but I didn't get a chance to look at it because it was snowing, I was hopeing it would be there when I left but it wasn't. Dammit!

It's the helmet.:metal: I should get my gas set this week. That should help also.;) Going to get some metal and fab up some cab mounts this week. Still can make up my mind on a engine.

Re: Daverods 52

Re: Daverods 52

How about a turbo on an inline six????? you try it out so I can follow along!!!
Dare to be rare!!! I saw a 'yota R-22 in a rat rod the other day with the 5-speed . owner says it is great, good MPG and just screams. The valve cover was aftermarket so it was not too noticeable that it was a rice burner :sumo:
or a V-6 EFI . try something different.

Daverod,
I'm only speaking from my experience, but I found the frame horns needed to be whacked about 1/2" forward the farthest forward steering box bolt hole. Anything more interferred with the lower grill splash apron, and it left far too little of the original bumper brackets to use them. You might keep that as the first thing to check once your enginge and cab are mounted. Then again, you may not be running a front bumper. Anyway, that's kinda the downfall to these swaps. You make a change on one part that bites you in some other area. I guess just an FYI.
