Highest Annual Mileage

I was just curious if anyone puts as many or more miles on their truck per year than mine? I am at 24K thus far in 2020 with a couple long road trips coming up, I should be around 45-50K this year. I really try to stay under 30K miles per year but as an example, I didn't really do anything notable and drove no A-B over 50 miles and still put 1,200 on it last week.

Classic vehicles were originally made to be driven right?...glad to see you driving it and driving it alot. I don't put more than a few thousand per year on any of mine...the occasional trip to visit family (150 miles round trip) and mostly back and forth to work.

My 85 K20 gets the most miles (5K per year) because I drive it on the rainy days and through the winter (4x4 and all). I live on a gravel road and rainy days mean muddy roads and I hate to wash the nicer ones all the time, the K20 is still un-restored.

I perused your build thread. It's a wonderful daily driver and you must drive it in your sleep too!

I doubt I drive more than 20k a year total these days all vehicles combined. I usually put 6-8k a year on my '72

Oh wow! You have me beat in the mileage department. My 1968 C10 with carburation 327 with 3 speed manual is my daily driver. I drive 130 miles per week for work, so I'm about 7,000 miles driven in a years time.

Pretty cool your driving it that much honestly. Ive put close to 1,000 miles on mine in the last month. My company truck gets 40-50k a year though. A new truck every 2-3 years is kinda nice.

I think its impressive with original equipment. I am not sure how impressive it is with a modern drivetrain - an LS with 5 or 6 gears and a custom suspension setup is a late model truck with a classic shell on it.

Actually the rate you are going, that is impressive regardless.

I only drive about 40k miles a year total and it gets spread out over seven vehicles including three motorcycles so really none of mine get too many miles.

It is by no means a record but I have put about 21000 miles on my Burban over 28 months.

2006 Harley Sportster 1200 I’ve put 60k mikes on, 2013 DR650 I’ve put 23k miles on and an ‘83 Goldwing with 75k miles.

I dont drive as much as you because I'm on the oil fields half the year. But when i am home for the other half I drive my truck daily for everything and it is the only vehicle I take on road trips for fishing. If I had to guess I will but 12-17,000 on it this year. My truck is all original other than the engine that was just rebuilt to the 383. I do take it apart and clean everything every chance I get. Just got done putting the front axle back on after sand blasting it and replacing everything other than the pinion bearings and seals, they looked great. I really enjoy driving it and I'm in Alaska. Even in the winter time it does great.

I'm confused are we talking 67-72 truck mileage or all vehicles in general?

I think you win the fun to drive category, I am thankful to have a manual. I love rowing gears which is why I want to drive this truck all the time.

Agreed, it does drive pretty much like a newer vehicle but stuff still breaks quite often. I daily drove it for a month with 350/350 and it cost me over $900 in gas and I had to fill up every morning (Wrangler tank) so it wasn't feasible for me to DD a carb'd vehicle. The LS is paying for itself quickly.

Awesome you are putting that many miles on a carb'd mostly original classic!

I didn't specify in the original thread but I was talking about folks 67-72.
