Love the low trucks, I'll admit im ignorant when it comes to bags. Never had them but im looking to get some, I just don't want to cut out the fenders, will I have to with bags, or is there another way? I would appreciate any info you guys could share, also any info on bags and best place to purchase some for a decent price, thanks

What camera or program did you use to get the photos to turn out like that?

My buddy Casey does all the photography. It's called an HDR photo. He could tell you all about it. Check out his Facebook page that he just started today. It's called Altered Exposure.

Here is my 72 Sub I just lowered last week with the CPP 3"/4" spring kit. Rides great and I can haul anything!!!! Bought the Boss 301 20" rims off CL. They fit great. Running a 275/45 up front and 275/55 out back. I wanted the Hot Rod raked look....I like it!

Need more info on your truck. Year, model....?

Additionally, what are your plans? (lay frame, lay door or just slightly lower than stock)? How low do you want to go?
What is your budget?
Many options...best to look in the bagged pics thread in this same forum, and you can look at my pics and video in my signature.

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

My truck is an 86 short wide c10, Silverado. Funny you should ask, im actually waiting on the lowering kit to come in. Hopefully it will be here today so.i can get started this weekend. I would eventually like to lay frame. I'm trying to get it to the point where I can put bags on it. Everyone I've talked to says to lower It first then bag it. I've been looking at bags on the net from Avs. Are they any good? And as for how low do i want to go, I want it to turn heads, not many trucks around here are bagged, especially not c10s. I recently put a new crate motor and tranny in, now my plan is to hit the suspension hard. I've never had bags so im not really to savy when it comes to dealing with them, so all this is new to me. I've had lowered trucks in the past, and now that i have a little bread im ready to take it all the way. Are bags tough to install? Is it one of those things i.should take and have done? I would like to do it myself if possible, I've done everything on my truck to this point. My truck is lowered a little now, it was this way when I got it. I don't really like how they lowered it, as far as I can tell they cut a coil or 2 in front and in.back they heated the springs and put a bend in them on the end, have you ever seen that done? I'll post some pics after work. I appreciate you getting back at me, no one else has shed any light on the bag dilemma. Would appreciate any help you could give me. Like I said I will post some pics of the truck stance and all around after work.

Thanks, Mike

Who ever lowered it heated the springs and bent them. Has anyone seen this, or done this? I know it makes for a rough ride.

Wow, I have never seen that done before. Drop shackles aren't that expensive. Does that cause a safety concern?

You need to replace those leaf springs.

Nice truck. I agree, that cannot be safe (heated/bent leaf springs).
I disagree with spending money twice to lower it.
Determine how low you want to go, and stay on that path. Why? Anything else you do will piss you off. It won't be as low as you want, then you will be removing stuff to sell on Craigslist.

Cry once...spend the money on parts you want and get it done. Once you bag your truck, you won't want it any other way.

People take pics of my truck everywhere I go. I didn't do it for that...but it's a side effect

what do I need to do to lay frame, as far as bags go? Assuming the back has to be c notched?

You won't lay frame with just a c-notch.
Look around in the suspension section.
You front crossmember is the lowest point.
The crossmember has to move up with a frame "Z", or replacement crossmember like a Dropmember from Porterbuilt Street Rods.

I understand that, but im new to bags. I need to lower the truck first right? As far as the crossmember, do I put bags on first then work my way down from there? Just trying to find my starting point.

Thanks, Mike
