63 c10 engine swap.

Looking for some advice on swapping an engine into my 1963 c10
Currently have the factory fitted 292 and 3 speed +overdrive trans.

I'm located in the U.K. And finding a decent Small block isn't so easy.
Basically I've found a really nice low miles late small block. I believe it is the 86-95 engine ( 5.7 LG sgi) casting number 14093638

Realise I will need to find a v8 motor mounting tower. But Does anybody know if my existing bell housing and flywheel/ starter will work with this year of v8?

I also intend to add script covers and rams horn manifolds to get the look of an older engine. I intend to buy a edelbrock manifold with oil filler/breather and add a PCV valve to the rear of a valve cover.

Can anybody see any issues with my plans before I make an expensive mistake?
Thanks in advance

Your flywheel will not fit the one piece rear main seal crank, That vintage should have center bolt valve covers so you cant swap the early ones on. You will need to work out the engine side mount for the equalizer bar for the clutch.

Thanks jimmy. Appreciate your help.
Was planning a set of adapters for the valve covers.
Think speedway sell a set that should get them on..
Is there a flywheel available that will fit the 5.7 crank and take my original clutch?

You will need a 168 tooth flywheel for a '86-'02 350. Your clutch should bolt up. Then you will need either a set of '63-'66 small block or '67-'72 230/250 engine mount brackets. You can also use the engine mounts and corresponding brackets from a '73-'86 C20/30 or a '87-'91 R20/30. But with those you may need to drill a couple holes and may need a 1/4" spacer on top of the frame. You will also have to trim the top flange of the frame to use those. As for the clutch bellcrank, all you will need is the ballstud that screws into the block, providing the block you have is drilled and tapped in the forward location.
