thanks Ol Blue!
my plans of a black van with green lightning just went down the toilet.
more dog damage. dieseldawg must like the taste of decal bonder. gave them another coat before i use them, come out to the garage 20 minutes later & there's green lightning stuck all over diesel's chops. looked everywhere on my 'puter for them, cant find them....must have deleted them, but i did find this old can (price tag says '97) of cool gm menthol green buried in the shop, so i think i'm going to use it instead
it's actually lighter, & more sparkly, just could not photo it

maybe dawg did me a favor eating my decals. it's not the black/green lightning i orig. envisioned, but this green is starting to grow on me. still photo's darker than it really is. maybe once i spray some clear on it.....

now that it's done, i aint so ticked at diesel for killing my decals, not minding the green, just wish it would photo the real color it actually is.

yeah, wouldn't that be cool! had the same though when i seen that chevy at SWAT. dont know if the bank account could handle it though!
still looking for a few pieces for my 72 chev off-road wrecker, but i was down in the crawlspace the other day digging out crap for the wife, & found a couple old broken car bodies. mid '80's camaro (ehhh), another '57 chevy (woo-hoo, already got 5 of 'em), and this....

'68 el camino, nice, i like. got the body, glass, frame, hurtin' paint job, & most of the interior. after the dawg incident with the van i decided not to use the slots, but i think they will look good on here.

thanks Ol Blue!
yeah, the blue is ol', i bought it yrs ago to repair my cobra ski-boat but sold it before i used it. kinda excited to see what it will look like on the elco. it's the first time i've used it other then some test swabs. like the green van it don't photo well, same thing, bit lighter.
did spray the block & t-case with it. got this out of one of the '57's, not sure if it's a 454 or 396. seeing how they came with a three nine six, that's what i'm calling it:)
Attachment 1270776Attachment 1270777

been spending some time on the body (i usually do them last), wanna see what this blue will look like!

I want to see what it looks like too. In high school (won't say how many years ago) we 4x4ed a 71 Elkie

haven't got a lot done. waiting for my axles & going on holidays this friday, got beer, fishing, quaddin', & beer on the mind, not much else:metal:
nuthin' real glamourous or exciting, got rid of the 2wd stuff & modified the frame

396 is pretty much done
Attachment 1272769

caged the interior up
Attachment 1272770Attachment 1272773

I wish I had pics, back then we never thought about pics. My first Polaroid was after high school. Have fun this weekend. My girlfriend and I are planning a few days at my cabin this weekend.

yeah, know what you mean, only thing that mattered was cars & girls!
actually going for a week & a couple of days, thanks man. once our house is paid off in 4 more yrs, me & the wife will be looking for a small chunk of vacation prop. out in the bush somewhere, a cabin would be a big bonus!
soooo looking forward to it, been clocking big hrs to make up for the lousy winter & cant wait to unwind & just goof off. three more days......
pretty much at a standstill till parts get here & we get back, but i did scratch up some tubular steps for it

might have to do like you, more scratch buildin'
i have been thinking about doing the Deora truck on 44's with an expedition type camper body on it.:metal:

this is something thats been in the back of my head FOR YRS! even though the camino is not finished, with the good hrs lately, i just splurged & spent $75. this from fleabay
Attachment 1273129

and these & some other cool junk from my fav caster (model was $28 w/ship, tires & rims alone were $28.50 wo/ship!). unimog rims on dunlops, they scale out to 44's
Attachment 1273130

comes with a camper shell, good starting point to modify it into a big ol' 4x4 rv!

have managed to get a few things done since we got back. was supposed to do the end links on the wife's envoy today, but it's raining, so hoping to get some paint laid.
narrowed down a spare visor to fit
Attachment 1280210
scratched up some springs, shocks, crossmember, etc, brake lines will get plumbed to the m/c after the body is on

yeah, i got a soft spot for them. some people think there cheesy or whatever, but i dont care, i like 'em, 4x4's need them.
while i'm waiting for the paint on the camino to dry, my mog rims & tires showed up today, so i started playing around with my deora. out of my entire collection ('bout 170), this is only the second non-gm in the fleet (mis-guided sister-in-law gave me a ferd thunderbolt few yrs ago)
comes with a slant 6 (), got a '97 LS, & a carbed BBC, undecided yet, but i like cubic inches! has a goofy camper shell, but i'm thinking a box style camper like a big expedition rig with a big roof rack & bumpers with bars around the cab & up to the roof rack.
just thinking right now, the finished product rarely looks like what i originally plan....
