Caps, toppers, camper shells - ONLY!
 

That's right, show us your (or anyone's) VINTAGE, PERIOD camper shells/caps/toppers. That means no cabovers, no hangovers - we have plenty of threads for the big campers - this thread for caps/toppers/camper shells that cover the bed only :) Here are some examples to get the idea. If you can post any info about it, year, make, whatever, that would be appreciated too. Brochure shots welcome! Pete - show us your K10 GMC's, it's one of my absolute favorites. Let's keep it to stuff that at least looks like it could have been bought no later than 1975, for example, since many folks bought the truck first, then a cap within a few years. As long as it doesn't hang out past the bed and doesn't hang over the cab and is of the era, let's see em! If it's too new, we'll vote it off the island (just kidding) (oh, and they have to be on a 67-72 truck)! Btw, the last pic is my screen saver most of the time, one of my favorite pictures!

Great idea Mark.. Sorry for the crappy pic but its picture of a picture. I talked with the son of the original owner of my truck and he sent me this pic digitally. He said this pic was taken a week or so after his Dad bought it in July 1972 and I guess this would be a period correct cap. I have no details on the cap.

I took a interest in this one on ebay, would have bought but shipping was the killer . its forsale in a scrap yard in Ca.

Here's mine. This top is old, leaks and is due for replacement. It has been on there since 1973, at least, as my FIL bought it then, with the shell on it. I'm going to get a replacement that has barn doors (I hope) so that I can put plywood on the back. I may buy a Harbor Freight trailer instead, then it won't matter what the doors look like.

This is my '72 GMC K10 right after I brought it home. I have the camper on my 8' 69-72 copper trailer bed now. It's a Caravan Camper made in Reno, all steel and HEAVY! I've had it for sale on this site forever, but no bites.

I have an extra hard top for my blazer that I was thinking of converting to a cap for my SWB. Would it be possible? Any nice 6 foot caps out there?
