I'm a new member here but I have been lurking around for a few weeks looking for ideas on my truck. I'm not quite sure where I'm going with it yet, I do know its getting a 76-78 grill and grill trim, and possibly become a Dooly. It has some cancer on the doors and the drivers side inner fender, easy fixes though. This will be a slow build as money becomes available for me. I'm open to suggestions from people, but I will NOT slam the truck of paint it really fancy colors, just a simple paint job.

Well I got some work done to the 79 today, not much but I removed the ugly aluminum running boards and it looks like a truck again. never mind the missing grille (cracked on one side and missing screws) or the black lines on the doors (hiding some pitting from rust). I am having an issue with my tail lights. The brake lights, blinkers and reverse lights work as well as the front marker lights. I'm sure that I just need to track down a broken wire.

Tail lights are working again. Someone before me left a hacked and spliced rear body harness for me to have to replace, junk yard here I come.

Well its been a while since I've been on this thread. I finally have a to do list kinda.

Engine needs rebuilt so I probably will be swapping in either a 6.0/NV4500 or go all out and do a 8.1/ZF6
4X4 with Dana 60s with a divorced 205
New doors and power windows
New bed
New seats, probably going to stick with benches, that all depends on where the stick is for the transmission
33s on either 16 or 16.5 wheels
Paint, thinking matte hugger orange with matte black on bottom, all black, or the original colors
One ton springs
New gauge cluster, I kinda like the looks of Dakota digital vhx series or the autometer gauges
Decent stereo system, I don't need subs, just wanting to listen to some music
Win the lottery
Other things that I'm probably forgetting

Basically I'm going for a muscle truck look that I can still use a a weekend tow rig/ farm and ranch truck that will last and I can still drive it to work every now and again and look good doing it.
