What gear do I need ?

I have a 1949 AD 1/2 ton . I am putting a 250 six in it, it has headers, 4bl intake and a 460 lift cam . I am going to use a 3speed std trans. I am going to use a 1975 Camaro limited slip rear end, it has 256 gears. I am going with 15" tires. Do I need to change the gear?

I would...how tall your rear tires are and your rpm range along with your desired cruise speed will help decide..http://www.csgnetwork.com/multirpmcalc.html

2.56 might make that granny 1st almost usable haha

looks like 2000 rpm in top gear at 65mph, thats about what my 2500hd does with 4.10s and overdrive. it may be a bit of a mutt around town though.
