It's true. Prior to that we didn't pay much attention to what the Dodge boys were doing.

I didn't recognize anybody except Tom Nesbitt. He was a ride & handling guy and Corvette enthusiast: good guy.

Whats funny is I actually went from owning a 1986 Ram D-150 to a 1990 454SS. What a difference that was! I loved the old '72 to '93 Dodge trucks, but they were clearly from a different era compared to the 400's. I was working for a large utility fleet in 1988 when they got their first 400 series trucks. The first time I drove one I remember how well it rode and handled, very quiet and great visibility. You could literally feel that the chassis was far stiffer than any other full size light truck available at the time. I was also around when they got their first 1990 530 series Topkick. That truck was equally advanced compared to other medium duty trucks when it came out.

Good video. Comparison by numbers is always good. As a diehard GM man, I've never owned a Dodge. My first truck was a 56 Ford which I built up with all GM components, then GM trucks from then on.
My personal opinion is the 88-98 GM trucks are the best looking and comfortable trucks GM ever made.
I only own and drive GM trucks, no cars.

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching it. Owned two 72's (still have one) and an 85. Took me all the way to 1994 to accept the new body style after square bodies. Purchased a 94 new and still own it. Never warmed up to the "cat eye" trucks. Do not care for the newer trucks after those either (or GM's present direction). With the useless to me tech, styling I still do not care for, high purchase price and large size I doubt a new GM truck will ever be in my future. A connect and cruise motor and transmission will go in the 94 instead of a new truck.
