Cab roof panel install article

One of our good customers, Ivor Jones of TN sent us these great installation articles installing one of our new cab roof patch panels. He is a member of the Mid South Chevelle Club and used this in the club's newest newsletter.
We have had a lot of questions about how to replace this part of a cab and we couldn't ask for a better way to show it to our customers and other enthusiasts. Thanks again to Ivor for allowing us to use this article! Part #ORS6772 Cab Roof Patch Panel $190 Must ship Truck Freight. |
Re: Cab roof panel install article
Could you post a link to the original article, so I can see the pictures larger, or is this just a scan from a paper magazine?

I am going to try and get it uploaded to our own server. It is 6MB right now so I can't post it on here.

Re: Cab roof panel install article
Check my build thread in my signature and see how I did mine. I also purchased it from Soky. While I wish I would have used the panel adhesive around the rear of my skin. I still would have done spot welds around sides and front. Actually had to cut spot welds there from old skin.

If you want to see larger pictures check out my build page at the bottom of my post I replaced my roof skins (both inner and outer) but at the time I did mine there was no replacement panels I had to go with used. New panels would have made this a really easy job. here are a couple pictures there is a lot more on my build page

Thanks for the compliments. I was really glad to see this article as well. We were proud to be a part of it!
We plan to do some more features like this on some other parts that we currently carry. |
Re: Cab roof panel install article
Hello. Great article. It looks excellent. I have a 72 Chevy C-10 project truck. I've searched all over for skins to replace inside the top of the door from the rear roof seam forward, and can't seem to find anything. Suggestions, anybody? A full inside skin would be even better, since there's rust close to the top of the windshield, too. Hope someone here knows something. As excellent as this forum is, I doubt you'll let me down. Thanks, guys, and keep truckin'.

Re: Cab roof panel install article
Do you think that the roof panel can be replaced without removing the windshield and back glass?
