14" Rotors touching lower control arms
4 Attachment(s)
Hi, I've installed a Ridetech Streetgrip kit and now trying to install a Wilwood 14" brake kit but the rotors are touching the lower control arm. Any ideas. I also replaced the control arms with a set from LMC. The spindles were in the kit from Ridetech. I need to start a build thread, I'm going with a LT4 / 8L90 from SpeartechThanks in advance.

Welcome aboard! Yes... please start a build thread! I’ve seen it a common thing to trim the lower control arms for allowing 15” rims to fit without rubbing, but I can’t say that I’ve seen it done because of big brake rotors. I don’t see why it would be a problem.

Grind it or heat and beat. Either way will work. The down side of both ways is that nice coating on the control arm will have to be touched up. Grrr!

Re: 14" Rotors touching lower control arms
LMC lower arms are renowned for being thicker in the lower ball joint mount area causing your contact issue. They work ok with up to 12 " rotors...that's my experience with them....
Would suggest some aftermarket arms rather than grinding on the arm itself... Anyways...keep safe....:chevy::chevy::chevy: |

I would "gently" move it with a hammer. You might be able to get a large crescent wrench on it & bend it enough.

Thanks guys, To be safe I've decided to bite the bullet and get Ridetech's strong arms with the coilovers .
