Door Roller Pins
2 Attachment(s)
I'm having to replace the hinge pins and bushings on my K2500. I replaced the pass. side roller pin with the Dorman part but I will probably use factory parts on the hinge pins. I was having a hard time pounding the roller pin in so I measured it with my caliper. The stock pin was about 0.57 in and the Dorman part was 0.59 in. Too large for an interference fit IMO. I put the pin in my drill and turned it like a lathe while grinding the knurled area down with my Dremel tool to about 0.58 in. That was enough for a good fit. The Dorman roller pin seems stronger than the stock part.

Re: Door Roller Pins
just note a major cause of the rollers bending and breaking is bad door pin bushings and the roller it self not being lubricated. I have only ever had one bend and break due to all the above stated. not a fan of dorman products. had one of those break after fixing the door pins and bushings. ended up getting one from the factory junkyard. just my 2cents.

Re: Door Roller Pins
I've kept my door hinges lubricated on my '89 and they're still in very good shape after almost 29 years. On this '97 it was abused and the hinge pins/ bushings are really bad.
