new from kentucky

hello everyone, I have a 1970 C50 truck I plan to restore . I have had a 1969 c10 many years ago that I let get away. I will always regret selling it. Im a HVAC technician, I have many years of exp in auto body shops. and was a body man for 7 years. auto mechanic for 6 years. this is the first classic medium duty truck I have ever worked on. so I will be looking forward to any helpful information from fellow members.

pictures of the truck and wheel. 6 lug wheels are rare on these trucks. the truck was brush painted with I think BARN PAINT. the first weekend I get when its NOT raining im going to start sanding it down. the truck runs and drives. I paid $1500 for it. the floors and rockers are solid . the pto is missing the linkage to shift it. I can manually shift it then start the truck hydraulics and everything works.

That’s awesome, that’s the same transmission that’s in my 68 c10. I’ve always described it to people as feeling like driving a 4 speed dump truck haha. They are a tank of a transmission though, pretty much indestructible. Ours are also stronger than the four wheel drive version because the output shaft has 35 splines, on 4WD they only have 10 splines.
You may have already known that though. Anyways, awesome truck, can’t wait to see it when you finish it. Are you going to leave it factory or do one of the C10 long bed conversions?

im going to do a restore on the body cab and front of truck. shorten the frame for a hauler bed. rebuild the 350. run all new stainless steal hard lines for brakes and fuel. new tires and would like to find a set of aluminum 20'' wheels. the truck will be painted to match my 24' cubby cabin boat.

Welcome from Navarre, Fl. We moved here two years ago from Mayfield, Ky. Do not miss the snow at all. Good luck with your build.
