Yeah I look forward to paying it back with working on his 5 window. It will be bagged. He plans to make most of his frame. We can use mine for ideas/reference. Yes, I know. I have a senior and an sophomore. I barely see the senior between wrestling and working. The sophomore can drive now too so he is less and less around to.

Much like last winter, I started a winter to do check list. I have been picking off the items.

I have always had high crank case pressure with my LS set up. Delmo uses valve cover breathers on the vintage valve covers like mine to help with this. I had on on the passenger side so I added a 2nd one to the driver side. I also swapped out my oil cap/breather with a black AC Delco one that I thought looked better. This cap also looks to provide better venting than that last one due to the bigger holes. Kind of a win/win with the cap.

I also had an exhaust hanger break on the passenger side. When fabbing up exhaust we used some 1/2" SS tube I had laying around to make the hangers. This one has broken once before. I decided to remove the exhaust and replace both hangers with 1/2" SS rod. It wont break this time. My Friend Josh (JJH Jimmy on this forum) helped me with the fab work and tig work on the hangers.

Josh is one of the many people that I have met in real life from this forum. Everyone I have met in real life have been solid dudes. Josh has a nice lifted K5 Blazer, and he just completed a 4wd long bed lifted square body. He has an AD 5 window next on the list that I look forward to helping him with.

Looking good Marc! Yea, i am going to use you like a rented mule now! Just kidding, but your knowledge is going to be valuable.

Just checking in. I just clocked over 8k miles since 21'. The truck is in a real sweet spot moving past all debugging, leaks and issues. Just driving (A lot)

I had a successful road trip to Goodguys in Columbus a few weeks ago. This time with both of my boys.

This past weekend a friend hit me up last minute to go to a show that I have never been to in Grand Haven, MI as part of there Coast Guard Festival. It's a cool beach town located by Lake Michigan. I hit the bed at 1 am (due to a friends party) and was back up by 5 am Sunday to head to the show. It was a nice 90 minute drive. My friend Brad with the 50 Chevy Coupe pictured just completed the Power Tour (long haul). It is a cool LSA powered coupe. He goes by Snedenwerks on IG. He has lots of cool content. We were parked in a small lot off of the main st. Locals get there REALLY early. There were over 500 cars there.

Just before we were getting ready to leave, Mike (Modges'66) called to say "hey you won an award and its one of the big ones". I was surprised not only by being chosen for an award but by how cool the trophy was. It is one of the coolest trophy's I have ever received. Laser cut and 2 color powered coated. All in all a great day.

Thank you.. I was at the pool store with it a few weeks back as I use it to run errands as much as possible. An older gentleman was waiting out by the Suburban when I came out. He said "Pretty nice, I used to own one. I sold it about 6-7 yrs ago". I asked his last name. Then I said "Yeah this it".

He liked the final product. I reminded him I told you I didn't plan on painting it when I bought it.

the guy that sold you the Burb must be kicking himself now he see's what he could of had.

A fellow member here, found the original owner of my truck, and it looks like he won't be seeing what I did to it.

The old owner admitted if he owned it, that it would still be sitting where is was.....his house was still in the need of the same repairs as it did 7 yrs ago.

There is a small historic town in the Village of Vicksburg, MI a few minutes from my house. There is an old service station there. I always wanted to use it for a cool back drop for some pics. During hours of operation there is a model T in behind the large doors.

I like how they turned out.

I added a vintage roof rack. This is temporary as I have a show in Oct (C10 Nationals) in N Carolina. I will take time over the winter to construct one with cross supports and wood slats.

The Truckster is closing in on 10,000 miles in just over 2.5 summers. Its probably time to build something else.

Thank you
Marc

Yeah I'm not worried about it being right on the roof. I really hate the looks of roof racks that stick up on 4' off the roof. I tried to keep this one tight to the profile of the roof. In my next version the cross bars will be steel (not the current wood). The mounts are vintage Quik n Easy mounts from eBay. They are reproduced by Sweet Patina but I wanted vintage ones to better tie in with the rest of the crappy exterior.

Thanks..Just say when.

I might help someone sort out some "issues" on a bagged 50 Chevy truck that has been LS swapped. I would be over the winter. I need to asses it to see what I would be signing up for. This would be my first paying gig working on someone else's truck.

Just checking. I went over 10,000 miles a few weeks back. I still drive the Suburban as much as possible. A few maintenance items.

First I can not recommend enough to do a nut n bolt check every spring. To my surprise I found a few missing fasteners and a few motor mount bolts that were loose. Good to catch the stuff on your terms instead of on the side of the road.

Recently I added a SS hood strip just to add some more bling to the crusty O'l girl. I also had a LED parking light with a few columns of lights burnt out. I replaced that as well.

Thank you
Marc
