My favorate place in the world Rexburg.:metal:Not. It was on craigs. No engine. I've got a 283 sitting in my garage I might see if I can just throw that in to get it running. Not sure what trans its got. What engine does yours have?

I so agree.

Mine has a 216 for now. This summer I'm going to put my 348 in it.
Have you picked it up yet? If not give me a call and I'll help you load it. I'll PM my number if you want. I can swing by and get some pics for you too.
This is the first winter in the last 4 that I know of that this truck has sat outside. If it's the one that I think it is, this person has owned it for a couple of years. It sat in the P O's garage across town until this guy bought it.

Re: Daverods 52

I'm going to get it Saterday morning maybe around 10-11. It would be great if you could help me load it. It has a flat tire I need to get filled. I'm going to take one off my 64 it might fit. I have a nice dove tail trailer I'm loading it on. Should'nt be to bad I just need to go buy some cable and a comealong maybe some chains. If your free it would be nice to meet you. Pm me later Dave I can come anytime that works better for you. If it keeps snowing like it is I might not be able to get it till spring. When is that anyway?

I found a 1989 S-10 frame and running gear. It's a reg cab long bed. Anubody know if it would work? It's 300? Sounds like a fair deal just not sure if it will work.

My 54 Suburban is sitting on an 89 reg long box 4x4 s10.
Page two has some pics. When you come up to get your truck you can swing by and look at it if you want.

If you end up getting the s10. I'm going to bag mine and wont need my drop springs anymore. I got 4" angled blocks in the rear.

Re: Daverods 52

Does anybody know if a 89 s10 has a vin # on the frame? I looked at a frame today the guy said it had a lean on it but I could'nt find a vin # on the frame.

Hi Dave , I thought I better check in and get subscribed so I can follow along and make comments when needed!!!!!

Re: Daverods 52

It's got one more truck in it. Comments are welcome. It's the only way I know what to do.

Re: Daverods 52

Did the 64 get moved outside since it is "done"?

I had a irrigating truck like this one when I was in grade school. Grandpa taught me to drive the tractors and the truck about third grade. Three on the tree but third would not work cuz something was wrong with the synchro gear. It would just grind even when it got double clutched. Second gear was fast enough to chase the cows out of the way

Well it did spend the afternoon outside but it's back now. It will stay dry.;) and salt free. I'm thinking I might have to increase the size of my garage. Build me one of those Allan lean toos.

Re: Daverods 52

Your lean-to better have a 6-12 pitched roof for Idaho the snow load. Alan doesn't have that problem in Georgia:lol:

Re: Daverods 52

Have you seen it. I'm thinking it could hold some Island Park snow.

Re: Daverods 52

Found two front floor pans on ebay for 50 plus 25 for shipping. LMC had them for 69 each. Plus, 20 each for oversize, plus shipping. I think it was a score. Couple cab corners and some toe kicks and I'll be welding.:metal:

Awesome shop. :metal:
I was thinking of a lean-to also. Just for the dirty body work. I had a temporary one up, but the wind blew it apart. :uhmk:

Re: Daverods 52

Cleaned up the truck. No real surprises. Very solid. One bad cab corner, front bed panel is rusted along the bottom. Front floor panels are shot as well as 1/2 the toe kicks. Bed is shot as well as the metal strips. Couple rusted stake pockets. Other than that is all good.

Thadious 02-28-2011 01:15 AM

Re: Daverods 52

Now that's some interesting bodywork! But hey... it's gets you where it needs to be!... little filler and you're done!

Wouldn't worry about the rust stuff... sounds all pretty standard. I redid my box sides and front as well... couple sheets of 16 gauge cold rolled and a 20' length of 1 5/8" - 16ga tubing... a little cutting, a couple bends and you're done... and not for the $1000 bux all the big shops want for them! I've only got a light skim coat of filler over the welded area and you'd never know, except no stake pocket holes...

Cheers!
Ted.

I don't think that would have worked either with 75 mph winds. After loosing it twice, I gave up until I build a permute one.

Talk about storage issues, You are storing that poor thing on the walls. Hope you are not pulling the cab and bed up to the rafters to store them.

I need one of those heaters in my garage. I have a propane salamander heater but the fumes are terrible after a few minutes:waah:
