3.5 /6 drop need front tires that fit??
I had a 3/5 drop on my truck, bought some 275x60x15 tires last year, they fit great.
This year put in 2.5 " drop spindles and 1" drop coil springs in the front of the truck. I thought the front tires would fit, not. Seems the 3" drop springs I had on last year, were not a true 3" drop. The drop spindles also put my tires out to the outside fender now. At first the truck sat fine, but the last couple days seems to be settling, I have about an 1.5 clearance before hitting the fender/ inner fender well, I am bummed. Just curious what size front tires should be run on such a drop. Problem I have now, is don't want a smaller diameter tire, can't afford to have this thing drop any more, my lower control arms and collectors from my headers are about 3 inches off the ground now. Please, any suggestions?? Thank you. |
What brand of 3" drop spindles did you buy??

Sorry, I was not careful writing my post. I had 3" drop springs in the front last summer, not 3" drop spindles.
Sorry... |
Doh!

Cause it read 3" drop spindles instead of springs, I fixed the post.
Thanks for catching it |

Thanks for the replys!
I bought a 1" spacers for the springs. I will use until I need new tires then will try out a 255. My 275 just to dam big!! Thanks guys! |
Chevyc10, Do you have any close ups of the front tire/fender? I haven't put my front end back together yet and I've got 265/50/15's on 8 inch rims for up front. I want to do a 6/8 drop and I need to know if I'm going to have to modify my inner fender. If it's going to hit my outer fender then I'm going to a narrower tire.
Thanks |
