Body mount torque settings?

We just installed all new body mounts and the directions state that we should tighten them to the factory specs... any idea what the factory specs are for a 1970 Blazer?
Thanks...

Tork setting are made on the size of the bolts used to fasten body to frame.
My .02 cents

The assembly manual says 35-55 Ft lbs. Jeff.

go till its tight, then a nice grunt, that always seems to work for me

Hilljob's way will work too. That was the radiator mount torque. The last three mounts are 15-24 Ft lbs and I'm still looking for the number 1 mount. Jeff.

Thanks for the numbers. We took gr 5's out and put gr 8's in. Just want to be sure we don't over do it.

I don't know if you can overdo it, other than starting to pull the bolt head thru the floor. The only torque I can find on mount 1 is for pickups and it said 70-95 ft lbs. Anyone else pay attention to these settings? Jeff.

Thanks for all of your help... that gives us a range to work with.

How much trouble did you have changing the bushing out. Im gettign ready to do mine on my 72 K5. Just got the kit in and was wondering if there is anything I might need to know??

Jimmy72custom 08-25-2005 07:53 PM

50 ft lbs for the one below the windshied, and 20 ft lbs for the others. Not sure about the radiator mount, but I think I went 35 ft lbs.

The bushings on mine were pretty much rusted to the cushions, but I had new ones anyway. All the old crap went in the dumpster. Jeff.
