sway bars

How common are/were sway bars on the front of 4wd trucks from 67-72?

Good question.....I have always wondered that. My Burb does not have one. Although the U-bolt plates on top of the leaf springs have the boss but it is not drilled and tapped for the sway bar. Does anyone have an original?

I don't think Ive ever seen one, on a '72 or earlier truck

BTW: Most of the serious 4 wheelers I know take 'em off their later model trucks. They interfere with suspension articulation, I believe.

By the same token, Ive had my 6" lifted Blazer sideways, on dry pavement w/o going over. I don't much care for the sway bars.

Mines the same. Got the bosses but not drilled and tapped.

Sway bars weren't offered on 4X4s until 73. There are companies that provides kits for adding one or you can adapt one from a 73-87 4X4 to your truck.
