Cool truck. I was supposed to pick up my 06 this weekend but they screwed up putting the leather in. I had them do two tone inserts and they forgot the door panels.
What kind of mods ya doing? I'm going with Escalade handles, chrome mirrors, and ditching the door moulding. Planning on a set of 22's if I can find the right rubber...:bling2: |

That pinstripe is going away as soon as I get it home. That Foose wheel is sweet. I'm looking at the Eagle Alloy 026 in a 22". The problem is finding the correct tires size. My buddy has 305/40/22's and the rub bad. I don't want that to deal with.
I just won an auction on Ebay for a overhead console with Homelink. I'll add that along the way....:) |

Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
That's a good looking wheel. I like it better that the 026 because it doesn't have the rivits to trap water. My buddies truck (N2billet) only has shackles in the rear. He bought his tires and wheels from Tire Rack. He says they are cutting the tires up pretty bad. We think maybe Tire Rack got the back space wrong.
What wheels does your buddy have? |

Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
Unfortunately he doesn't know what his backspace is. He told them what he had when he ordered them and they seemed to fit just fine when he put them on. From what he says when he hits big bumps, dips, etc, the tires actually get cut by the fender lip.
I'm going to send him a link to this thread and let him get involved. I would really like to run 40 series 22's. Maybe between all of us we can figure out the right combination. In case you haven't seen my post in the photoshop forum, there was some conversation started concerning this as well-Look here |

Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
OK, first off....Ken I've been watching off and on over a year for a console with homelink and you get one before you get the actual truck! Dang I suck.....
Pictures are worth more than what I can peck on the keyboard so I took some real quick so they may help in our discussion. I can't remember what the b/s is on the rims because it's been over a year and those numbers got pushed out of the head a long time ago. I had my guy @ Discount get them from TireRack because they have a deal worked with the wheel company anyway, I talked with both companies and they told me that with the 305/40's I would have zero trouble with rubbing if I didn't lower it. I had planned on a 2/4 drop but decided I would just drop the rear and drive off to into the sunset without a care in the world. That dream lasted a day, me and the wife where out house searching when I ran into a small dip in the road and then got to listen as rubber get's cut away by the inner fender lip and with a stupid look on my face turn to my wife and said "that was the sound of 300 dollars getting ripped" to add insult to injury we get out at the next house chosen by the wife and when we get to the front door she say's "what's wrong with your fender?" I turned around to find that the tire had pulled the fender lip straight down and had cut the top of the tire as well. I then spent the next few minutes trying to find a suitable tool to help remedy the situation. I found a new 2x2 stake that got the lip back in line again and after a year you can still find that stake laying in the back of my truck waiting for the next dip in the road........I hate my wheels........but I'm ready to help solve the b/s question. I did some research and it looks like a +35 offset on a 9 1/2 inch wheel will tuck......Let the games begin and let’s see what wheels will work and maybe I'll get that 2/4 drop that I wanted from the start and put my trusty stake in the trash for good  |
Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
Nitto 420's I take it?? Looked ar my friends truck today and he said that the front does rub very very little. And his RUBS are only on very sharp full radius turns that only happen when he hits a dip at the same time. He is not rubbing on the upper fender though. He is rubbing on the inner plastic fender toward the front of the truck. He also has the Nitto 420 tire. I am going to try and get a wheel off and measure backspacing in inches. Also did you do the 2" shackle in the rear?? How about rolling the inner fender a bit?

How about rolling the inner fender a bit?
Nothing to roll, it's flat against the inner fender. I have thought about welding it to the inner fender to keep it from pulling it down but if I go to that much trouble I might as well get serious and get the Air Ride stuff out and lay it out. Keep in mind that 2" shackles really equal about an inch or so worth of drop... I have found that if I have weight in the back (like 100-160 pounds) it doesn't rub on the dip by my house.......In the back of my mind I keep thinking if I could get the rear down just another 1 - 1 1/2 I wouldn't have this problem as bad......I would rather get new wheels and drop it 2/4 so I could still pull my trailers.... |
Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
Do you think a 2/4 without helper bags would be ok with lets say a 18ft car hauler?

Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
Actually I just picked it up tonight. They screwed up when it was shipped off to add leather and didn't two tone the door panels as requested. Of course I didn't find this out until Thursday evening so it wasn't sent back out again until Tuesday.
In return for having to jack with the door panels the guys at Classic Soft Trim put a scratch in the paint. Grrr..:( I did order the Escalade door handles and chrome mirror caps but that's it. I'm still trying to figure out what tire/wheel combo is going to work. Pics coming tomorrow when. |

Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
I have a local guy that works at a GM dealership getting the handles and mirror caps for me. I'm still undecided on the chrome mirror caps. They look sweet on lighter colors, just not sure if I like them as much on black. Here is a pics of the Esky handles.
BTW-Guess what size tires he is running...:dohh: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...b/DSC00127.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...b/DSC00128.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...b/DSC00131.jpg |

Re: Picked up a used CREW CAB
Ok, I finally got a chance to get some pics. Every night since I have had it I have come home after dark. You might know it would rain today, but I wiped it down and got some quick shots anyway. Sorry but the lens fogged a bit on some of them.
