Where's Bouncy?!?

Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
It's been for sale in the past. I called on it and the guy said the body was a rusted basket case. The wheels don't help it any either.

Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
I just emailed the guy asking him about the truck. In the signature of the email was my name, email address and phone number.
His response - "send me your number or quit wasteing my time." My response - "Look at the f*****g signature! Just never mind. You don't sound like a reasonable person to deal with." I hate dealing with idiots! |

Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
That sucks when you have to deal with people like that.

Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
Im the IDIOT that has the blazer for sale. If you have ever had to deal with selling a rig like that on craigslist then you would understand what kind of people I get to deal with all day. The people I contact are the people that say they are interested in purchasing and tell me to call them at a phone number. I dont mean to come accross as a jerk but I get every homey in the seattle area asking me some really dumb questions. Thanks for talking so highly of me guys, I know im not the smartest guy in the world but I also dont like to play email tag and answer all the questions.

Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
OK, johnboymx, let's review. You put a Blazer on Craigslist. Someone from the Blazer board sends out a heads up in your favor. Bouncy, who had previously inquired about your rustbucket, nevertheless gives it another go. For his trouble, he receives a response that indicates not only an ignoramous on the other end of the line (you evidently did not bother to read his signature, which contains his phone number), but an obnoxious ignoramous not very keen on selling his Blazer as well. Whatever, you said it best yourself: "I'm the IDIOT." :fry:

All he needed to do was ask me to call him. The ad had the answers to all the qustions he asked in his reply.
edited by moderator Does this sound like a person that wants to rush out and buy a blazer or does it sound like someone that wants me to email back and forth for a few days? |
Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
Seeing as he's been looking for one for almost a year+ it sounds like to me
he wanted an accurate description of the rust areas / how bad before he loaded up with a trailer to come after it. He actually asked you LESS than I would have for the 1st go around. I know craigslist is FREE, but for $25 a year here you could have got us to help you price it, advertise it on the national level, & probably even sold it. (I got both mine from other states and would not hesitate to go after another if it was a good deal) My $.02 |

If you spent as much time descibing the truck as you have defending your actions maybe you would not have to be defending your actions?
Selling a 35 year old vehicle that has a tendency to be anywhere from a little rust to a non existant floor you have to expect to deal with people and answer questions. Godd luck with your sale. |
Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
This sure became a thorny thread. All I know is that bouncy is cool and it would have been better to answer with a more positive email.

Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
Sounds to me like your not really interested in selling this blazer. Any reasonable person looking to spend their hard earned money should ask as many questions as they feel necessary. Any reasonable person trying to sell something should answer those questions as truthfully and completely as possible.
BUT.... I apologize for just wasting your time! |

Hey... you guys just made me laugh me a$$ off by reading this today. Way to go! :)

Re: Craigslist/Seattle, WA: 71 2wd Blazer
I don't think Bouncy was out of line at all..... What you have to understand is that when you are selling a vehicle online and the person on the other end of those questions is not standing directly in front of the vehicle that is being sold.
So you have to see his point of view. I mean you said Rust in Rockers and Quarters well makes me think well what about the windshield frame and the Inner fenders and doors. A lot comes to mind. And I can Say here in Ca when you go to the Swap meets you get some guys out there trying to sell you a 2wd Blazer and then you look under it to only find it was a 4x4 conversion. Then you turn and ask em and put them on the spot with like 15 others standing around and his answer is :but: So questions are to be expected... And its good to ask all the questions before you dump 5000 on something and then kick your self in the Arse for not asking em. Just my. 02 |
