can I run 33" tires on the stck chevy ralley rims? I want to put them on the 72 K10 shortbed that I should have by the end of the day.

i ran 31x11.50s on a 15x7 and 15x8 rallye rim for quite some time..

BLAZERMAN 12-21-2002 04:04 PM

robby, I have 33x12.50 BFG'S on regular old rally rims and havent had any problems.

teeitup 12-21-2002 04:32 PM

I run 33x12.50's on my 6 hole 15 inch ralley's but I have 2 inch lift on both my 4x4's.:D

Blazerman, What kind of lift do you have? Teeitup, are you satisfied with your 2" lift? I looked at the truck today but the guy is out hunting mountain lions.

teeitup 12-21-2002 07:16 PM

Robby, I love my 2 inch lift, its high enough to look good and I can still crawl up into the truck. I think the 33's look just right on it. I've has 4 inch lifts before but 2 is my preference. Randy:D

Mine is a 2-1/2" Skyjacker, new springs front and back with Off Road Design heavy duty greasable shackles, I am also using a skyjacker 2" drop pitman arm and an front sway bar adapted from my old 84 blazer. The ride is much better than stock.

blazerman, tell me about the sway bar installation. Is it pretty starightforward?

robby 12-23-2002 10:34 PM

blazerman- Ilooked at the old post. Are those two different trucks? It looks like the first one used a bracket that was already there and the last one had a bolt on bracket. Is that right? Are there holes already or did you have to drill them?

Blazerman...thanx for the pics. My fatherinlaw has a 72 K5 that i just rebuilt the whole front end to include swapping the spindles and hubs out to the later design....73 up. There is a link thru our web site....www.blazerchalet.com....link page...brochure page....there is a book called the history of the blazer 69-81....they have an oldy article from back in the day on this subject....they used the 73 up frame brackets....i think that is what i will do to his K5.
