AC condenser retrofit. What fits?

As I went to install the condenser for my underdash AC unit, I found that it had a crack in it. I took it to the local radiator shop to see if it could be repaired. The owner took a look at it and told me that even if he could repair it, it was not worth it due to the fact that it was an old "S" type and not a "cross flow" type that operates much more efficiently with the 134a refrigerant. He recommended that I try to find one from a newer vehicle that fit, in order to keep the cost down. I was hoping that someone her has experience with this. I'm trying to avoid buying a brand new one since money's been kinda tight. Just wondering what everyone who has AC has run on their trucks?
Thanks, Chris

Do you have the original Cool Pack?

Man I wish it was a Cool Pack! Actually its an Equip-Air unit out of a '63 Impala. It seems to fit in pretty well (style wise that is). I grabbed the serpentine drive, AC compressor, alternator ect... out of a 1997 big block truck to use. I'd post some pics but I'm pretty computer illiterate and my computer is pretty bogged down already.

This picture is from the 1963 Custom Features Accessories Album

1963 Custom Accessories Installation Manual. The opening is 26 1/2" wide X 17" high. If you look on your rad support you can see three vertical dimples approximately in the position required for drilling. Both sides.

Thanks for the reply Aerotruck. Sorry for the late response but my PC apocalypsed shortly after that post and I just got a new one yesterday. The Equip-Air unit that I picked up is very similar to the Cool Pack that you posted and I have it in the center of the dash as shown. I just talked to a radiator guy yesterday who recommended that I get a condenser out of a'95 Exploder because it is a newer style set up and the ports are in the right location. Hopefully I'll have AC in a week or two. I'll post updates. Thanks again. Chris
