Bed cutting question......

I am planning to cut the bed down on my '71 in the near future and wondering what the best tool for the job would be. I have seen a few threads on this subject but none of which go into great detail on what type of cutting wheels or what the best user friendly tool would be. Thanks, Shawn:chevy:

Re: Bed cutting question......

I used the thin cut off wheels that go in a 4 1/2 angle grinder. I was buying dewalt ones at first......then started using the harbor freight ones, $7 for a 10 pack. I have cut a ton of sheet metal with these suckers and in my opinion they are the only way to go. I had a wood floor, so just lopped the ends off with a skill saw, for a metal floor just proceed with the cutoff wheels. I used them to cut the frame as well.

BTW I also use one of these from time to time when cutting, come in pretty handy if you don't have a variable speed grinder
