Look out charlie brown :P I finally got myself a truck after wanting one for damn near 15 years.

I've picked up a pretty little 1970 CST/10. It came with some toys already and I've already done a little work under the hood, mostly maintenance type stuff but I'm going to start myself a project thread and track my progress.

Bought it on September 7th, 2010 for $2700 with 92,222 miles reading on the ODO.

Pretty sure the engine is a mid 90's 350 smb with a turbo 350 transmission, still trying to find the numbers on it.

It has an edelbrock air intake manifold, edelbrock carb and KN filter.

Old hooker headers with crappy mufflers (soon I'll fix that!)

MDS iginition system and electric choke.

So far I've:
Replaced fuel pump and gasket.
Replaced valve cover gaskets.
Installed PCV valve (it was missing one O_o)
Re-run new cooling lines to the transmission, old lines had been cut and patched with rubber hoses and hose clamps O_o
Welded exhaust pipes (they were broken and full of holes where the mounts were)
Fixed the window crank knob (I'm tracking everything, gimme a break ;) )
Replaced back glass.
reworked the shift linkage so it's tighter and more durable.
Replaced vacuum hose for transmision.
Replaced transmission mount.


My list of stuff to do:

• Replace mufflers, flowmaster or something
• Replace bushing on steering collumn
• Replace carrier berring
• Re-wire entire truck (electrical is a rats nest)
• Replace transmission rear seal
• Replace windshield
• Replace passenger side vent window
• Replace or repair damage on rear panel. Most likely replace as bed needs more work than I'm willing to do
• Decide what to do with trim/paint. May remove all trim and do black bottom fade to orange top, may keep trim and redo orange paint.
• Install electric locks, windows, alarm, and keyless ignition.
• Fix dash metal, either utilize holes or fill them.
• Finish this list.

And here's the baby (her good side, I'll post more pictures of the interior, the damaged side, and the motor soon.)

That's her most flattering picture ;) The engine shot should be 'decent' as well.

I couldn't get any other pics last night cause I was busy relaxing for once in the last 2 months. I've been working on either tearing out and rebuilding a bathroom, buying/working on the truck after my daily driver blew up, or gigging with my band on top of my normal work/fiance/hobbies so last night I had an opportunity to do nothing and I did just that lol.

The previous owner pulled out and scraped the back. Behind the rear wheel on the passenger side is dented in pretty bad on the bottom of the panel and the bumper is pulled out and bent pretty bad on that side. It didn't cause any real structural damage, just cosmetic but it's a shame because the chrome on the bumper is pristine but it's so bent on that side I can't really get it back in shape and I lost all the trim on the back half of the truck because of it.

There's some old rust in the bed that's been painted over and it looks like it's spreading so I'm probably just going to replace the whole bed, panels and all. I just have to determine if I want to keep the outside trim or not because if I do I think I have to look specifically for a CST/10, if not I can just get any old C10. Not 100% sure on that or not yet. I want to finish tweeking the engine and get the reliability thing nailed before I start cosmetic stuff. She's pretty enough right now.

Tried to upload some pictures to the gallery but they're all too big file size wise. Didn't have time to fix em over lunch so I'll work on it this evening. In the pic you see the trim isn't lined up. This is bugging the hell out of me, I'm hoping it's due to the damage on the other side, I'm worried that the rails are crooked though cause I don't want to do any frame work to this thing :p

The interior is damn near perfect, the only real body damage is on the bed and the rear fender/bumper on the passenger side. The engine is dirty but she runs fine (daily driver fine).

The only thing 'really' wrong is the electrical is a nightmare under the dash. Everything except the AC works (blows a fuse) but the wires are a mess.

Looks pretty good. If you need that piece of woodgrain I'm sure I have an extra for you.

haven't decided if I'm keeping the trim on or taking it all off yet. I like the look of both but if I keep it on I'm probably going to pull the woodgrain out and paint the center stripe with an airbrush to give it a more custom look.
