I got mine off Ebay. They were a bit knarly when they arrived but being made from stainless I was able to polish 'em up.

I think you can still get some from Re trac. I saw the link on the 60-66 web site. I tried to polish mine but will have to either rechrome them or buy new ones.

http://www.google.com

click on shopping.

search for: west coast jr mirror

You could also find a RV store near you and hit up their catalogs.

If you were a supporting member, you could put a WTB(want to buy) ad up in the parts board and see what people have.

Advance Auto Parts has these... for $23.64 a piece! And the mirror is stainless.

Here's the link: Cipa Jr. West Coast Mirrors

Re: I need some west coast jr mirrors!

I have the CIPA 47500's on my '65 -they look OK till they start to rust, they are poorly designed and poor quality, and one of the mirrors blew out the first time I hit 60mph!
Unfortunately, I think the selection of good, cost effective ones is limited. FWIW, Amazon has a lot of mirrors to choose from, and the prices don't seem too bad.

Re: I need some west coast jr mirrors!

gcwhite,

those mirrors that you want are the OEM types.

I bought a set used for my '65 c10.

pictures are here, click on the description for the image

another picture is here... it's the image I was sent by the fella I bought 'em from.

you can find 'em for sale, as most people take them off their trucks. They shouldn't cost too much.

You did not state that in your post, so it appeared to be a for sale ad. If you wish to give something away, by all means have at it. But be sure to state it is for free when you do.

Well I guess we were all at fault, even the admin. people. You could've moved the thread, but you can't blame us for trying to help a brother out. Thats why we're here.

Re: I need some west coast jr mirrors!

Lucky I came across this topic, I am at this point, repairing the long versions of my West Coast mirrors. Mine have to be the long ones, as I have an 8 foot wide flatbed on the back of my 1 ton. If I can find 'em, new or good used would be easier than piecing my frames back together and welding them up. These guys stick so far out, the previous owner mutant hit everything he possibly could with the driver side, missed everything on the pass side.

Re: I need some west coast jr mirrors!

Thanks for the picture. Mine look a lot like that in the U shaped frame, have two straight bars as well, per side, one from the upper tube to the rear of the door, the other from the lower tube mount to the upper tube. Your headache rack looks like a dead copy of the one I have, makes the mirrors stick right out there in the breeze, don't they! My flat bed is 8 feet wide, 9 feet, 10 inches long. I take it yours is also a dually as well, being a 1 ton truck.

Your truck is NEAT. My final mod will be trying to find a dually 2 speed rear end, so I can cruise on the road into town at a lazy, comfortable 60 mph, instead of all out, done in, and over revving at 45 to 50 mph. It's either the 2 speed rear end, or, try to find a nice, used, reasonably priced (hahaha, like, that is really gonna happen in my lifetime) Hone inline over drive.

I just took a look at your pictures link, EXTREMELY NICE WOOD SPINNING ITEMS. That takes real talent to do.

We dealt with it when it was reported. None of us are bionic, and none of us can read every post that is made daily. Had we moved the thread as you suggest, then the OP is getting screwed over. Re: I need some west coast jr mirrors!

Ok......
Back to the mirrors.

OriginalTruckdude,
It appears that the ones you have are OEM. The close-up of those would show three vertical lines stamped into the backer plate....the center one being longer.
The OE's arm & mounting brackets are very well engineered with virtually no vibration....resulting in no crack-outs of the door skin.
Nice truck ya have there.

I'd encourage any one who's replacing these mirrors with something else to hang on to the take-offs, no matter the condition, as they're superior to any aftermarkets or repops.
I'm sure that they will be snatched up by one of us sooner or later.

Re: I need some west coast jr mirrors!

Yippie, hooray, today, I got finished with the refurb of the mirror frame on my flatbed. What a disaster this could have been. I have the wide mirrors, to clear the headache rack, as padresag has, and, mine were obscenely abused. So many BRAZED sections. Many destroy missions on them from armed attackers.

What I did find was that 1/2 inch steel conduit thick wall, is the SAME size as the original tubing, and, all the ends and bents were in great shape, but the straight sections were now pretzels. I replaced all the straight sections in the U shaped frames, and built two strengtheners from scratch. All new nuts, bolts, washers, and I repainted it all with white paint. I figure I saved a lot of money over new hardware.

And, of course, 3/4ths through the LAST part to be painted, I ran OUT OF PAINT.

So much for putting all that stuff back on the truck tomorrow, it'll have to wait until Saturday, DRAT!

So, then I went to address the heater core leak issue, found the core at the live end gone, so, no fixing this one. I have the short core, heater box inside the engine compartment, and want to go to the long 9-1/2 inch long core, but, they are just over the top expensive right now. I can find the standard cores all day long, under 30 bucks, but, only specialty shops have the long core, and they want past a hundred bucks for them, clean out of my money tree's ability to grow funds.

I really do like this truck, it is easy to work on, and built for me, dead simple. I can't wait to have the fun of tooling around in this neat old truck!
