Factory Bucket Seats Pic Thread

Oklahomaduner's truck got me interested in factory buckets for these trucks. I guess they were put into a few late 66's, but rumored to have made it into a 65 or three... May end up being a very short thread because of how rare these things are, but post em if you got em!

SCOTI has some sweet buckets he got out of the classified section and recovered. I love the buddy buckets, but couldn't justify the cost vs. the alternatives.

I have two sets for my 68/69 Tahoe and may have one in the works for the 64  all need restoration.

The 67-68 BB's look just right in the pre-67's IMO. I never knew they were offered when I had mine done & they bolted right in w/no mods. I went from the OE bench to the re-built buddies.....

SCOTI, you have any shots of them installed, or are they still in progress?

I set them in place once they were finished but that was before the BBW conversion was completed & interior was painted. I'm still not done w/the cab floor so they've been sitting wrapped up in plastic. Once I get the cab swapped & can 100% determine my floor panels clear, I'll be able to get the insulation & carpet down to bolt them in.

These are the best pics we have of my son's truck in it's current state, sporting fresh carpet and new kicker panel covers. We hope to have the seats recovered within the next few weeks as close as possible to the stock style it has now.

If its not to small to read, the "sport trim" lists the buckets...

Just back from camping (off the grid). Thanks for the pics guys! Love the way those look in these

SCOTI, please post a shot or two of yours installed here when you have them in. I dig the covers you had made. What did they run you?

The main difference I see is the back of the center seat. It seems to fill the space more and is about as tall as the other two backs. Definately different than the later models. Im thinking about getting my center seat made bigger to look like that.

Good eye. I'll have to check my sets for that.

Thought this might be a short thread. In all my years messing with these trucks the pics in this thread are the only 60-66 factory buckets I've ever seen.

People think 67-68 buddy buckets are rare. I'd hate to see the price tag on one of these set-ups....

From what little I know I heard GMC, Buick, Pontiac and Olds got the stuff GM thought no one would really care about or like, but when they DID like the add ons, GM threw them on Chevy as quick as possible. for instance, GMC was "supposed" to be the luxury truck, cuz it had alot of chrome and such, nothing a typical farmer would need or want, then buyers started asking for that stuff, GM put the option in the Chevy book then.

Mine's in shop as we speak. Dont know how to post pictures, but I can e-mail to someone to post for me. Should be out the end of next week. Problem was my padded door panels. Apparently the padding traps water pretty well. Rusted beyond use. I have one used panel and have ordered a repop panel. We'll see how they turn out.....
