Project: 72C10 "Clear Blue Sky"

4 Attachment(s)
I have been doing my project for about 4 1/2 years now and never started a build thread. Slick67 inspired me to start one, so here goes. I had a 72C10 in high school, and have always liked these trucks. I am planning on doing a frame off restoration, and use it for truck meets and shows. I will try to keep these pictures in order the best I can. I want to do a 4/6 ECE drop,
350/TH350 combo, power brakes, pwr steering, 17" or 18" wheels, but want to keep that classic truck look also. I also plan on going with BC/CC paint, that I will do myself. I found a SWB for $1500, but the guy took $1200. It has a step-side bed on it, (it was originally was a fleet side and he traded the bed). I will go back with a fleet side bed. It has allot of rust, and holes where metal used to be..LOL So I guess the tear down will start. I know everyone like pics, so I will try to get as many as I can.

Engine out, an clip off, I want to fill all the extra holes in the frame and make it smooth. I plan to have everything all powder coated gloss black. I am sure no one will notice all the extra holes filled and smoothed, but it will look awesome...

All the extra holes on the frame are getting weled up, so they frame will be smooth and clean looking for powdercoat.

A few updates, the frame is all smoothed off now and getting ready to be sent off for powder coating. I aslo cut some holes for the exhaust to be routed through. Moving right along, I have all new front end parts, ECE 2" Fr drop springs and spindles, 6" Rr drop springs, rotors, wheel bearings, etc.
I still have to paint all the ties rods, couplers, end links and such...tks for looking.

Thanks for looking,
No real mods to the frame, I just welded up all the extra unused holes, and made it all smooth. Also made some cut outs for the exhasut to be routed through the crossmember. It has a ECE 4/6 drop kit, shock relocators, adjustable track bar and I added power steering.

Cab update and progress, this cab is rough, but I have time and want to learn sheetmetal repair and painting. This will take some time, but I really wanted to keep the original cab. I will order all new sheetmetal and such, now I just need to get after it..ha
