What Holley 2 barrel for 307 V8?
Hey Guys!!!
Thinking of going with a Holley 2 Barrel of which type im not certain. I run a stock 307 with an aluminum chevy 2 barrel intake. Im not into performance much but would like a bit more juice. I was told that 2 barrel Holleys are what i may be looking for. ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!:chevy: Also Im going to run a 200-4r this is all dependent on if the Holley TV cable kit is available for 2 Barrel linkages. Calling Bowtie ODs manana. :) |

Your choices are very limited which just about narrows it to a Holley 500 cfm list 4412. Man....I just sold a cherry one a couple of days ago! You may need an adapter depending on whether or not your intake is for Holley or Rochester.

That 500 cfm 2 brl is a lot of carb for a stock 307, it will work, but IMHO, you may be better suited to a 350 cfm version. If you are adding headers/duals, camshaft ,ect, then yes I would go with the 4412;) crazyL

I know you were asking about a 2v carb but since you are going to run the 2004r you might want to consider the 4v route. You can pick up a manifold for next to nothing and with a small 4v carb you will get BETTER milage than the 2v.All the brackets for the 2004r swap are readily available and with a good HEI you would have a heck of a nice little package!:chevy:

I agree......A vacuum secondary 4bbl is only running on the front 2 until you put your foot into it.

So what about my setup? I have this adapter plate with a 500 AFB carter on top. Would it be better than a 2 barrel for economy?

Just basing it on my own experience, when ever I swapped out the 2v carb and manifold for a 4v set up on a stock motor,it always seemed like I came away with not only more power but also better mileage! But those 2v carbs were in pretty bad shape by he time I swapped them.
