Re: 1990 jimmy issue
So I guess it's a 350 with a carb

Re: 1990 jimmy issue
Nope should be a 350 with a throttle body injection. Cutting out under load could be low fuel pressure(fuel pump in tank)

Re: 1990 jimmy issue
I vote first related to the fuel pump going bad or second the strainer sock being clogged with debris. Ther is always the chance that the injector is clogged/needs replacement but most likely the first one as previously stated.

Re: 1990 jimmy issue
Well the guy said its a carb set up I guess I will have to go check it out is there an easy way I access the fuel pump

Re: 1990 jimmy issue
if its a carb, could be a filter issue.
does it rev up in neutral and park? if so, that's your pickle. |
Re: 1990 jimmy issue
I haven't seen it they guy seems like he's either annoyed with questions or just doesn't know. He said it idles good in gear an park but rev it it dies. I guess I'll have to go look at it

Re: 1990 jimmy issue
sounds like ignition. Plan on a full tune up.
1990 is TBI injection unless it's been raped and put back to a carb. if that;'s the case it will not pass emissions if it's applicable. It may be a TBI unit as a lot of people don;'t know the diff. ;) |
