Hey guys,
Just wanted to share an experience I've had. Take the time to read this. I've been building a truck for some time now and had to make a change to my control arms due to tire/rim size, the control arms I had were perfectly fine for the application I had but I needed something else so the hunt began when I came across Michigan Metal Works. I spoke to Taylor there and he was always on top of responding to me and answering my questions which we all know does not happen much. This guy wanted my business, I could tell.
I have had my fair share of control arms and they are all about the same, they all could use some type of improvement or different components to make them better. MMW came up several times and the moment I seen their parts, how they were made and the quality and personal time involved with every piece I was impressed, plus they were not DOM like all the others there are flat plat super thick steel that you see in race trucks, some serious strength. To make it better the come with a Jeebus joint as the upper ball joint which gives you a ton of articulation which means less camber and less tire wear which saves us money in the long run. Plus the jeebus joints are super strong. I told Taylor what I was building and he knew exactly what I needed and they even make these to work with the awesome Porterbuilt Dropmember. They will powder coat any color and will even scout to match paint for the powdercoat to get you close as possible. The Jeebus joints are covered with a billet cover that will have their logo engraved or even you can ask to have something more personal like me as I wanted something special to include my wife with the build, and the hardware that is used as end caps for the bushings are also beautiful and well thought out.
At the end of the day Taylor and MMW are one of the best handmade control arm company I have ever done business with. They remind me of Nate at Porterbuilt with the care and the passion of taking care of each customers needs one car at a time, to me this means a lot. I just wanted to share my experience with MMW as they deserve it and if you are in the market for control arms or just about anything else like watts links, 4 link bars, custom spindles, and I'm sure more check these guys out please. MMW, Porterbuilt, and Accuair all paired up is going to give you nothing but the best as Taylor, Nate, Dave, Reno, and Derek have always been the best I have ever done business with. www.michiganmetalworks.com
or check out their facebook, don't forget to "like" their page but they have a ton of pictures, here are just a couple.
Thanks you again Taylor, You guys are incredible.

I'm sure these arms have come up before. I think they are cool looking, but I have a thing for tube arms.

Re: Check this out c10 addicts

They make some very cool products.
I have been following them for quite a while.
Plus they make arms and spindles for just about every vehicle you can think of.
If they don't have what you need,... I really think they would fabricate them for you.
Just recently started building some very unique spindles.

Check them out for 88-98, 99-06, and 07-up truck products.
They also build some cool a-arm set ups for tuckin big wheels up front on most dually trucks.

I'd really like to see Taylor on here more often.
Maybe even a Gold Vendor to add to our support vendor list here?!?

(his username here,... is Jeebus)
He must be too busy building stuff.

Re: Check this out c10 addicts

yes Taylor will pretty much find a way to make whatever you want happen, he did it with me and Ill post up some pics soon of this cool stuff.
Taylor goes above and beyond for everyone, plus he is a Porterbuilt and Accuair dealer.
some sik welds these guys put out also....
my arms with the v4 dropmember go perfect together to tie all the front flat pieces together plus the jeebus joints, well you need to check them out in comparison to a standard balljoint..you will be shocked!
They will make anything within their realm and will do anything they can to find a way to make it happen.

MMW also build these "Dodger" a-arms for 73-87 trucks that have modified crossmembers or z'd frames.
They help get that tricky steering shaft setup around you upper a-arm.

http://michiganmetalworks.com/store/...&product_id=79

These are the new “Dodger” series of upper control arms made for the 73-87 style C-10 Trucks. These arms do just what they are named after, they affectively dodge the stock steering shaft saving you hundreds of dollars in steering components and hours of work modifying your stock arms. These arms will install directly to your stock x-shaft with the new bushings and sleeves that are included with the kit, and will also accept the stock C-10 ball joints that are currently on your truck, or available at any parts store. These arms are designed to be used with stock frame trucks to dodge the stock steering on those trucks. If your frame is modified you will need to run a single joint at the top of your steering, depending on what size tire you are laying on.
The dodger arms are a product that is made ONLY by MMW, and provides a real solution to a problem that has made these trucks a hassle for a number of years.

Re: Check this out c10 addicts

they rock.
I know the tube arms will always be popular because that's what most people know, and they can/have/will make DOM style but really defeats the purpose of what they do. These arms will take more abuse that you could ever throw at them, they are built for what you are building and let me tell you they are not afraid of a challenge.
If anyone has watched any SCORE racing or any of the desert runner style trucks that fly thru the desert or race dirt tracks drifting and jumping everywhere this is the style of arms they use. MMW arms are super thick and are really unique. We are all looking for a little edge to be different, this is the answer with many added benefits.
You want 24s on the front of your c10 they narrow and alter the arm as needed at no extra charge
There is nothing with tube arms as ive had them and some great one at that and they are great and will be best for some but the guys/gals looking for that little edge of being different with the performance that others don't have MMW is your answer.
They are fully dedicated to the execution of every part they make and then takes the time to make it only yours personally.
Sky is the limit on the arms if you want studs in them, a recess with insert, you name it and Taylor finds a way.
Like their facebook page and check out how many car clubs use their product. how many SEMA trucks use their product.....smoothster, reyna bros trucks, tre5 with some one off torsion bar lower control arms, etc...and the car club list is endless.
I think these guys deserve a lot more than a few thousand people to like their page. This is an industry first at this level of construction that is made for any project, price is great, options are endless with this many custom options along with a warranty like no other.
Just pure innovation and I am totally impressed with the personal expertise MMW offers, and the attention to detail and pride they put into everything they do plus there logo rocks!

Taylor is the nate of the mini truck and newer truck world. He makes nice stuff that will take a beating. And makes stuff that no one else will like the 97-03 f150 to lay frame is a nightmare in the front. He fixed that problem with a raised upper a arm mount no one else has that but him.His no notch tie rod ends for the s10 and 88-98 gm trucks are another thing only he makes.

Here a new set of MMW arms for the 47-54 guys running an S10 chassis,...

Quote:
Have a 47-54 Chevy Truck that you want to swap an S-10 Chassis underneath?
We whipped up a set of these conversion arms for a customer who is swapping a mid 90's S-10 Chassis onto a 47 Chevy body.
The arms push the wheels out to fill the fenders correctly and run an inboard shock to maximize your turning radius compared to stock arms.
They lay on 22s, with ease, and come with a steering kit to wrap it all up!

Re: Check this out c10 addicts (MMW)

Wow! I'm very impressed. The quality looks top-notch, and I like the fact that they make unique pieces. Too many suspension companies all make essentially the same parts with very slight differences. Companies like MMW and Porterbuilt are the exception.

My '64 has a Z'd chassis and his Dodger arms would be just the ticket.

Re: Check this out c10 addicts (MMW)

From what I can tell the prices are super reasonable too... Suprising because the quality and style of these really lead one to think they would cost a lot more than they do!

Thank God for quality, style and a reasonable price!!! You dont get all three of those in the same UPS package now a days.
