door alignment

Hello everyone, having great difficulty in aligning my 1967 Chevy C10 pickup doors so that they will close without the use of slamming them to pieces. I put new door hinges on, but just can't get the doors to shut with a "reasonable" amount of support. Any suggestions? All would be greatly appreciated. 1950ace

Have you got new rubbers on? Almost everyone that has new rubbers says the doors are real hard to shut until the rubber settles in a little. Have you moved your stricker plates in or out to try to adjust the door?

same here...put new rubbers on my 68 and the driver side door just barely catches the little rod in the door well. It shut perfectly before i changed the rubbers. Pass side is fine. I've changed door seals on over 25 trucks and this has NEVER happened. Somedays ya just wanna scream!!!

Besides adjusting the catch plate where the latch contacts, I have also had to loosen the hinges at the front fenders and move the doors up a 1/8" or so to keep my lines straight and shut the doors!
