Subscribed.

I'm curious if the hood was powder coated will it be painted later too? why not blast and spray epoxy primer or self etching primer or something like that?

Yes the whole body was sandblasted then powder coated...just not the cab... Powder coating works much better on pieces like the hood because when it is coated the powder goes into all the corners because of the electrostatic process when you just spray it regularly it will not do that as well

Does Powder coating have a primer as well? Or does any color stick to metal as well as primer? Sorry for the questions but this is new to me, it makes a lot of sense that it gets into corners and crevices better.. I just didn't know powder coating was paintable. But what do i know i haven't graduated past the rattle can stage yet.. :mm:

There are different types of powder coating material if you see my frame it is shiny and a different type of coating where as the body pieces are a dull finish and are able to be top coated as it acts like a primer as you can see with the hood picture it appears and looks like a brand new part. It is the only way you can get into all the corners unless you dip it into something. Thanks for checking my thread!
