1959 fleetside build

Guess I ll start a build page. I bought a 59 apache fleetside not to long ago. Purchased a frame with a Camaro clip already installed. I am going to go with ridetech shockwaves up front and probably a porterbuilt in the back. I want to see how the front sits with bags before I buy the back. I am looking into purchasing a 5.3 out of a newer truck. Should be a fun build. Lots of work to do.

It looks good. Are you going to make brackets and mount the bags between the tubing and top of axle?

No, they are going on the outside, on top of trailing arms.

Oh cool. Didn't know you were going with trailing arms. That will be neat. Did you get your front end all tightened and torqued? It's looking really good. Are you happy with the shock waves so far? I wish I could have done that or bags but just trying to get mine drivable again. I will go back and add them later.

not yet. Once I get everything done, im going to tear down and send frame off for powdercoat. so far so good with shockwaves. im no where near driving it but I like how simple the installation was.

Nice truck you got there. Great start on it. We did a camaro subframe in the apache also. Mind you we are still working on it. Seems like it will never get finished. Oh well. What is one more year

Was that notch in a kit or built from scratch? I really like it and would like to do the same.

I have a buddy that has a fabrication shop and cnc machine. he as a template that he created in the CNC for the round step notch. I can talk to him and see what he would charge to make some semi kit if your interested. let me know what all your looking for and ill ask him.
