The "Wrecker"

I'm coming over to y'alls neck of the woods. I've been in the 60-66 sections for several years. Maybe y'all won't run me off.

I have always wanted a wrecker and have looked at a couple over the years. This one popped up on CL the other day and it was only 10 miles away. The funny thing is my neighbor Sdailey and I spotted this on one of our back country spotting tours. As soon as I saw the pic on CL I knew where it was. I had intended to stop by someday in my 65 so there might have been a chance. Anyways it's in my driveway. I want to give a big thank you to Sdailey for helping and using his equipment.

It's a 68 GMC it was running a year ago. I was told it was used as a wrecker til it was parked a year ago. I have not tried to start it yet. It needs 2 doors, seat. brake work. The rockers are shot. the cab is solid from the floor up.

Enough chit chat on to the pics

I didn't want to change the paint, but since I have to change the doors I will do something. Maybe a flat orange or Cooters paint scheme from the Dukes of Hazard.

Thank you Sir

The rear end looks like a 10.5" Corporate 14 Bolt Differential, Is that correct? Looking for brake line kits right now. If I order for a SWB 3/4 ton will that work? I can't locate any for a 1 ton. I checked LMC and truckandcarshop so far.

By looking at the pics it looks like the shocks are missing on the rear axle. That is the correct axle I would assume.

I think Cooters would be the coolest way to go with that build!

"Breaker One, Breaker One, might be crazy but I ain't dumb, Craaaazy Cooter comin' at ya!" Can't wait to see what happens here. I wonder if you incorporate a wheel snatcher into the boom system? Cool ol truck!
