Do you use a buffer or by hand?

Re: Best polish for fine scratches.. Black paint
I have used Meguiar's Scratch X on my 2004 2500HD. Small rag, hand rub, works well.
On some of the bigger, deeper scratches, I've used 2000 grit sand paper, followed by rubbing compound, and finished off with Meguiar's. I'm really anal about my truck, and this has method has seemed to work well for me. |

I put corn starch in a sock and shake on the effected areas, buff by hand useing a clean cloth diaper.

Re: Best polish for fine scratches.. Black paint
Depending on how deep they are, you may get by with 3M Perfect-it II It is a foam pad polish that is specifically designed for dark colored paint....black, dark blue, etc. I have used it many times over the years, it is great stuff.
I would thoroughly wash and even claybar the area first, then go at it with this stuff with a waffle pad, a nice wax after, good to go. |
