Personally, I would paint the mesh black and use drawer knobs that are around 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" and use a bunch. It was a custom trend in the early 60's. That's what I plan on doing when I find a GMC or a 60-61 grill that's not $500.

Here's a thread on the HAMB all about it.

That's just my 2 cents

I thought about doing that to mine a while back, but I would have wall to wall bullets.

Diggin' the look, and I like the idea of painting the mesh black!

Losthope in his buld thread here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=485977

On page 1 he has the initial mock up of it, then on page 2 he goes into detail of how he assembled the final set up.
A tad too busy for my tastes, but he pulled it off IMO.
If you go through his entire thread, you will see how he tied it all together trough out his whole truck, to include a matching roll pan in the back of the rig.

I hope this helps, or inspires you.
He is a good guy and I am sure if you PM him he can tell you more !!

Good Luck, and have fun with it :metal:
