Prices on Blazers rapidly rising?
I'm two years deep into my complete restomodification of my 72 blazer...and it seems that over the last few months blazer pricing has skyrocketed...anything with the rocker boxes repaired/replaced correctly seems like they are all above 10K at least... maybe it's just the anger due to my lack of paint on my 72....anyone else see this? (obviously hunting season has an annual bump)..... It was ultra rare to see anyone ask for over 25K for a complely restored blazer...but now I see them constantly....just a thought.

Just down there lol Florida seems to bring in good money, along with most eastern states and of course Texas since they're all rich there haha I haven't seen an increase here in the Northwest for "sell" prices. There's still those drunken yahoos who think their rust bucket shell is worth more than $1000, but they aren't actually selling anything at higher prices than 5 years ago lol Those K5s are still on CL a year later and they say firm and wont budge as they honestly think they are worth that. Too much Gas Monkey, BJs and other TV shows corrupting peoples thoughts on these.

Re: Prices on Blazers rapidly rising?
Well, I am trying to find a friend (who lives back East) a 1993-1994 2 door full size and prices are all over the map. Many vehicles have close to 200K miles and still the owners want too much.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/4894752010.html This one has been for sale for awhile now and $6000 is way too high of price for it.
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/4897654923.html This one just popped up and based on it needing a lot of rust repair, engine etc it's actually a $1000 shell out here in the Northwest but the asking price is insane. A little further south we got this one which seems about right for it's shape and options. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/4898600300.html Further east in Texas this one doesn't look bad if it's original 2wd. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/4871453927.html More east another dreamer http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/4853098774.html This one is a bit better, but still a tad high http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/4853565251.html See the prices go up and down on these, but those dreamers who have high prices usually don't sell unless some sucker buys it who doesn't know the market well. |

I looked for a long time and it was difficult. There is obviously a seasonal component, but they've definitely gone up. So if you've got one, good, if you're looking, it's tough. With regard to the rockers...they can rust a lot of places beyond the rockers. I did commit the cardinal sin of buying a vehicle over the phone...but my rockers had been "replaced" and they photographed well...it even looked pretty good when it came off the transport...but after we got to the end(almost) of our rust this is what mine looked like:

Re: Prices on Blazers rapidly rising?
Just love how many people in these threads think they can "set the market price" based on their own single opinion without actually seeing in person any of the vehicles they whine about being over priced. Prices vary everywhere - to make a generalization of "Rust? - not worth 2K" is woefully wrong. There are guys out there that can fix their rust problems in a matter of days or few short weeks and then have a great project vehicle worth well over a few thousand. Same goes for the mechanic/driveline guys that overlook any of those issues knowing that it'll be a snap for them to correct that part of it quickly. The prices for restomod C10s and Blazers WILL be going up a lot once the Camaro/Chevelle/Nova/Vette/Tri-5 restomod crowd realize how far out of hand that market has gotten and they can get the same 60/70's kind of styling, comfort and performance for 1/3 of what they're paying.

Re: Prices on Blazers rapidly rising?
It comes down to one thing in general. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Right ? The best words I can give a guy shopping is DO YOUR HOMEWORK !!

Re: Prices on Blazers rapidly rising?
I got mine so I hope prices soar. Gotta make all of that money I'm dumping into resto seem somewhat rational. Our day will come.

Re: Prices on Blazers rapidly rising?
Most of us don't have the kind of money for a full resto. Even with what I've done with mine, I dout I would ever get back what I put into it. They are slowly coming up in price though.
