Wilwood D52 Caliper Clearance Problem
 

I just installed my Wilwood D52 calipers on my '72 C10. I'm having a clearance issue with my Weld Draglites hitting the outer edge of the calipers. Has anyone run into this before? The Draglites are 15x6 with a 3.5" backspace. I think maybe a 1/4" spacer might be enough to allow them to clear, but I would like to be sure before ordering anything. Thanks.

Mine just cleared my MT wheels so closely that I cant run stick on wheelweights because the 4mm thickness is too much

Same on a set of 15x15 ConvoPro's,,, I 'adjusted' the caliper with a 4" flapper wheel (I know, I know!!!) and had them move the stick-on weights so everything cleared.

Then when I put a set of Aerospace calipers on the car I had the same issue with a 15x12 CenterLine Autodrag wheel. I guess they expect us to all run 22" wheels and rubber band tires or something. If it matters, when I changed the wheels on that car to Weld Mag2.0,,, the calipers were WELL clear.

Guess what I'm saying is it's more the wheels fault than the caliper,,, kinda. (LOL)

This is on the front wheels. The curved edge of the caliper is hitting the inside curved part of the wheel. Are most of you guys running 15x4" front runners? I'm wondering if it's because I'm running 15x6's. I hate to run spacers but it looks like my only option besides buying new wheels. And then those may not fit either.

For my old setup I use to have a different brand aluminum calliper on the front of mine with 15x6" Weld Draglites and had to do the flapper wheel like Marv plus run spacers.

I hear you Marv, I have the smallest Wilwood drag discs and callipers I think you can get on the back right now and they are so close that tiny rocks that get in there driving in the sandy pit areas catch and leave little marks on my rims and callipers. :waah:

Ok thanks. I've got some 1/4" spacers I'm going to try. Hopefully it's enough.

Not sure how thick the D2's are but I think I had to run a 1/4 and another real thin one on mine.

Well the 1/4" spacers aren't enough. I stacked the two spacers together and they just barely clear. So I need 1/2" spacers now and I only have about 1/2" of stud engagement. Wilwood states that they should clear most 15" wheels but these are not even close.
