Meet Sarah, The Medium Blue Beast

Well this whole 67-72 bug started back in 2007 when I bought a 72 Longhorn when in High school. Ended up selling it and had a few square bodies and now I am back to the 67-72 series again.

I bought this truck about 3 months ago in Medina, TX, which is about an hour and half northwest of San Antonio. Found it on Facebook and drove out from Houston. The gentleman I got it from had it about 9 months and it ran when he got it. He told me the starter "ran away" on him one day and he hadn't touched it in 6 months.

With that, I towed her home and put a new starter and battery on it and it worked great. I drove it quite a bit and came across a heck of a deal. I work for a large tool company and had 2 tool boxes and only needed one.

So I naturally traded one for a complete pull out of a 2001 6.0 and 4L80E from a 2500HD truck with 120,000 miles. Farm truck where the body was garbage but the engine ran like a top.

You can see where this is going. I am pulling the 350 which runs great and putting in the 6.0.

I plan to do the body work a little at a time, but keep it running while I do it. I also want to shorten the bed and convert to 5 lug at some point. But for now, just the engine swap.

Well that's one hell of a starter problem!

Right. I went to take the trans off today and unbolted every bolt. However, I don't think they were even holding it on.

Needless to say, I am glad I started this swap.

I ordered the frame towers for the 73-87 engine mounts. I have the Dirty Dingo mounts already and also ordered the Walbro 255 inline fuel pump. I will pull the tank and put in a return line. Using the factory tank here. Works great and doesn't leak fumes so why change it.

Hey man. I'm the guy that you bought the 82 k30 from. I'm looking for it again and I saw where you sold it a guy in northern Oklahoma. Do you happen to have the number to the guy who you sold it to? I tried PM'ing you but your inbox is full

Last I heard, he sold it and it was sold again. Someone on the east coast completely restored it and had it for sale for something like $50,000. So I assume it's gone.
