Exhaust Header Bash
Exhaust Header Bash! Testing Power Loss From Dents - Engine Masters Ep. 4

Re: Exhaust Header Bash
Interesting read! I was taught to do minor dings, as needed to fit....but always 1st opted to trim a frame rail, or cross member, before denting the header tubes. From what I see, it just don't matter? I would wonder , that possibly the engine had larger primary tubes than it really needed ? Longhorn :chevy:

Re: Exhaust Header Bash
Watched that video yesterday....made me wonder if I should bash the headers on my inline 6 to get more power. haha!

Re: Exhaust Header Bash
Good video. I always wondered about that. I have never seen headers bashed to that extreme. I suppose if one was to bash a header almost shut it would certainly make a difference but from this video the slight amount needed to clear steering components or frame it should be okay.
