SWB bedsides or patch panels?

I'm trying to decide which will work/look better for restoring, using swb sides ( I have a decent pair ) or patch panels for the blazer bedsides? Any opinions, pics or sites for this conversion/repair would be welcomed.
Thanks,
Harry

I don't think I would want to use bedsides. I was planning that as my only option until I found some blazer sides. Looking now at all of the inner structure and how they are different then truck bedsides at the front of the bed I am VERY glad I didnt have to go through that.

How bad is the exsisting metal?

i am currently putting sb bedsides on my 71,got the right sice done,i just came back about 1/4 in. from the door jamb, cut it off ,measured from the rear stake pocket for length, butt welded, and it looks great.i will admit , blazer bedsides would have been much easier, but were impossible to find.or completely outragious.if i found some.for the money, ive got in mine they look great and you cant tell, inside or out

It's the lower bedsides L & R in front & behind the rear wheels, below the mouldings. I have patch panels, but also have a pair of SWB sides. I'm not trying to cut any corners on the resto, just haven't been able to find any nice blazer sides or full tub near me in NJ. Any nice blazer sides or tub for sale near NJ ?

Ya that was me. I got a LWB bed for $300 and made two large patch panesl for both sides. I had professional friend help, but it was basically like chiphayes did his. I've got some pics if needed.
