Very nice, I know it takes a lot of work to get to that stage.

Good luck, Rg

Nice progress!

The only clues on the SPID are the build plant and sequence #. To date, only Flint built K5s have been shown to leave GM with 1x wall tops and only those with later sequence #. Based on the available data, your blazer was originally equipped with a 1x wall top.

I'd ask folks with 72 k5s that have original tops to contribute to this thread that tries to nail down when the switch from 2x wall to 1x wall occurred: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=701826

I thought 72 blazers had the mirror glued to windshield. Mine is attached to winshield frame.
Wheels will be switched to rallys off my parts truck soon, emblems and trim, replumb vents then install the retro radio. Just in time for topless weather.

My most pressing issue is the atf dipstick tube leaking where it goes in trans pan. Its aftermarket chrome and wont seal. O rings, rtv etc--nothing doing. I always lose atf where i park it. Any suggestions? Thanks

The red looks awesome on your Blazer. Super nice!
I had the same issue on a Chrome ATF tube as well. I pulled it out, and sand blasted the end of the tube that goes into the transmission. After that I painted it and then reinstalled it with some black silicone... I should have got new o-ring gaskets. It worked good for a while, but started to weep after a year or so. It was also my daily driver. I ended up going back to a stock tube, lol. I think there may be a diameter difference with the chrome one being smaller.
