Holley bowl screw stripped
 

I had my vehicle serviced at a local garage by me and they told me they had to replace the power valve. After a week of having it I noticed a gas smell coming from the engine bay. I popped the hood and noticed gas on the front right corner of my holley carb where the bowl screw is. I tried tightening it but it just kept spinning.. I tried seal tape but it didn't work.. Anyone have any other ideas to try? The carb is a Holley 700cfm double pumper..

You'll need to pull it apart and check the threads. Might need to go a little bigger and find a bigger screw. Or thread it deeper and find a longer screw.
A slightly larger size may be available in a metric size.
It'll be a pain in the butt fix but better than a new body.

Agree with above. It's probably too small to get a threaded insert (but I haven't looked). The other option (and not trying to sound like a jerk) but see what the mechanic recommends. If he's the one that stripped it, he should be willing to fix it. If it was stripped before he worked on it, he should have told you about it.

A heli-coil will fit.

I do mine as a matter of course, as a preventive measure.

If it comes down to it a used main body in good shape should be pretty cheap. There are a zillion Holley used main bodies to chose from for that application.

I used to get a product called form a thread I have fixed many of carbs with this stuff and easy to use, basicly you put the paste in the hole with bad threads , spray the release agent on the carb bolt screw bolt in by hand until snug just snug. let it set for the time stated on the back of package and then screw out the bolt install metering block and float bowl and waalaa. Those bolts do not need to be muscle tight.
