Kevs Classics still around?
Is Kevs Classics still around? I sent him a PM bout 2 weeks ago, as I have a steering column I would lik to have rebuilt and no reply. If anyone can commend an alternative vendor that provides this service I would appreciate it.

Got mine from member 70shortfleet. Very happy with it.

I recommend 70shortfleet also. I bought a shortened tilt column from him and it is excellent.

Re: Kevs Classics still around?
Kevin did mine a few months ago and it was shortened the same. Fit was perfect. It makes a huge difference in the drive ability with the steering wheel further from you. It also allows for aftermarket steering wheels with deeper offsets.
I have another truck with tilt I want him to do the same. The truck he hasn't done for me yet feels like the steering wheel is way to close to me and I'm only 5'9". He did excellent work and I can't imagine the column any better when new 47 years ago. |
Re: Kevs Classics still around?
What timing! I was just driving my truck yesterday and was thinking if only this tilt column were shorter it would be so much more comfortable. I don't think my column needs a rebuild but if it isn't too pricey to have it shortened and rebuilt, it would be worth it!

It's a nice upgrade. The tilt I'm sending him later is in good enough shape but I will have him rebuild it too. The tilt function and turn signal lever are nice and crisp in function after a rebuild. Even if the bearings are still good, the feel of everything being new is nice. |
