8000 RPM Tach

Hi Folks, I have a 1971 Chevy K20 with the factory 5000 rpm tach.
Anybody know where to buy an 8000 rpm tach without buying the entire conversion kit that is listed on LMC and the Brothers website? I have everything but the tach itself. Thanks, Jack

Try the Car and Truck Shop, Orange CA. I think they sell one

Great truck! I had one when I was in my early twenties. Wish I still had it.

What engine are you going to run that will be able to actually utilize more than a 5,000 RPM tach?

Re: 8000 RPM Tach

I am undecided at this time but the 454 I have now is a little tired. I was thinking of the 454HO Chevy crate motor that has a little higher redline, 5500. I figure since I have to replace the non working tach with a good one, than I would go with the higher reading tach, then it would cover any engine I end up with. In reality I doubt that I will see those numbers for a street application. Thanks, Jack
