Fuel Stabilizers
Just wondering how many out there use fuel stabilizers? If so, which one. How often can you add one to your truck?

Re: Fuel Stabilizers
I have used Sta-bil for years. Winterize all my seasonal engines with it. You can use it in every tank if you want to.

Re: Fuel Stabilizers
I am a HUGE proponent for fuel stabilizers. I’m not sure the brand matters all that much. Just make sure and use it. Except for my daily driver and my Diesel truck, everything I own gets fuel stabilizer added to every tank without exceptions. You never know when something will sit for an extended time.
I use Stabil brand as well, but I use the Marine. It costs a little more, but goes a LOT further so it’s cheaper per tank. I usually buy a box of 6 quarts on Amazon depending on what the price is running at the time. |
Re: Fuel Stabilizers
Is Sta-Bil safe for diesel storage? I have always used SeaFoam

Re: Fuel Stabilizers
Do not know if Sea Foam is a good stabilizer, its very aggressive cleaner. Marine Based Sta-Bil would be something I would chose over Sea Foam for storage that is for sure.

Re: Fuel Stabilizers
I use Sta-Bil. I don't need to winterize, as I live in Arizona, but I get big discounts on gas from Fry's and Safeway. Somestimes 60 or 70 cents off, per gallon. When I have a lot of points accumulated at the end of the month, I can buy up to 35 gallons at my discount rate. I fill up 5-gallon jerry cans, and top off my tank. I put 2 oz of Sta-Bil in each can and it's good for 24 months.
