Adding spot light fuse
 

Thanks to a parts light from another member I've finally got my old unity going. Now I'd like to use the actual spot in the fuse panel for the spot light. It looks like there is just one terminal missing. What do I need to do here? I have a couple extra fuse panels, can I just get what I need from one of those? And secondly, any idea what rating fuse to use? I believe the bulb I'm using is 30,000 candlepower or so, not a super bright one. 2A enough maybe?

Not sure about the amp rating of the fuse, but yes you can just scavenge what you need from one of your other fuse blocks. The one existing terminal in the fuse block will be the hot one. Add another terminal end, attach to that and you're good to go.

On mine spot light terminal is marked 15A next to it. Fuse size is generally determined by size of wire in circuit, not size of load, but if you want to make sure you have enough capacity, divide the wattage of the lamp you will be using by 12 (volts). That will give you the amp load of the lamp. Multiply this number by 125, as you don't want to load the fuse more than 80%.
If you don't want to do the math, just use at least a #14 wire, and the 15A fuse will be plenty for the spot light load

Pulled the “heater” term and whatever fuse was in there out of a spare fuse block. I believe it’s 15A.

I added spots to my '61 Suburban, and immediately blew the fuse. Then before I could figure it out, I hit a deer and, well... it's been parked for the last four years.
I've got a set of NOS right and left spot light brackets for the '62 K10 project I'm working on now, so this will be helpful!
