1969 Stepside Seat option

Greetings to all,

My son's truck has a bench seat in it that I don't think is right for the truck. I am trying to get him to think about later model seats. I know Chevy made a seat with the belt built in, but for the life of me I cannot remember what year. Also, would that style seat work for his truck?

Thanks in advance.

1999-2006.5 Chevy Silverado/Suburban/tahoe GMC/ Escalade all have built in shoulder belts. There are a lot of threads on here if you use the search where people are using this style of seat.

I am using 2016 Silverado seats, they don’t have shoulder belts built in, but my cab has a factory shoulder harness point so it wasn’t a concern. Here’s how they look mocked up in the cab, they are getting recovered without headrests.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry, I tried and came up empty, but I will try again. He is still a ways away from that, but I wanted to give him an idea of how much work it will be. Somebody cut up the inside of the cab where the aftermarket belt would bolt up, so I am trying to think of ways around it.

No matter what seat you decide to use you have to run a center line straight down the center of the steering wheel . it should align with the center of the drivers seat . Even being off center of the steering wheel a 1/2 " will drive you crazy driving down the road , the seat has to be aligned with the steering wheel . Also you have to make sure it's not too wide or you could possibly run into door closing issues . Pick wisely . :chevy:

Thanks for the links and all the replies so far. That was what I was looking for, somebody or a group that has done it and can at least give me a direction to go with. After that, tape measure in hand to figure it out.

Yep, that is why I was looking for anybody who has done this already to at least give me a starting point, but thanks for the info, I appreciate any input.
