'74 Reverse light

Went from 3 on the tree to a floor shift.

Wiring my floor shift now, where is a good spot to tap into the orig reverse light wire?

I was hoping one of the steering col wires was it but I didn't see it on the diagrams I found. Is there something in the cab or do I need to go external

Found this site and I believe I'm looking at wire 18 24lg as the backup lights. And they for sure come into the cab thru the bulk head.

Problem is I loose wire 18 24LG in the cab and can't find it. I thought it would be somewhere in the steering column wording but in not sure.

Anyone know where I can find it in the cab or verify where it is on the bulkbhead?

It's kind of ambiguous, but the way I read it, the B/U lights switch - as used with a 4 speed manual trans - is the only one that is mounted on the trans casing.

The service manual/wiring diagram show the switch used with a 3 speed as being mounted in the same spot as if it were for an automatic transmission (i.e. on the top of the column right up against the firewall penetration. Or if not there, right nearby.

Thanks, I found it. lt green in a 2 pole connector half way up the steering column bundled with the steering column wire. The other wire in the connector was dk green.

The truck had 3 on the tree in it and the stock wiring harness is amazingly un-molested. Of course I'm cutting it a bit but someone had to do it.

I wouldn't clip off that connection.
The original 4 speed backup harness was a pigtail that plugged into the 3speed and auto trans backup switch plug and ran down to the transmission.

The part numbers for the connectors are in the wiring diagrams.
They are not obsolete.

Some years also had a pigtail to a clutch pedal switch from the AT & 3 speed neutral safety plug.
