1948 Canadian paint codes/chips

Hey, how's it goin', my hobby is gathering parts and info to restore my 1948 Chevrolet 1/2 ton, 'cause I'm spending waaaahayhay more time finding what I need, than getting to the work, so far anyway.
I bought a 1948 body with clean paperwork for my son, he found the deal but didn't have the funds at the time. Long story short, his interest got stretched kinda thin between work and girlfriends, (which is all good), but the 64 Dodge 330 he owned, sold, found, then bought back again, (something went wrong with his upbringing somewhere along the way... hmm, my bad! Actually it is pretty cool) landed the '48 back on me.
For two years I'm hunting for parts I need to get it back original before I start building. I haven't got there yet, but I keep moving forward, I like to think anyway!
One thing that's elusive is finding the correct colour. I'm searching blogsites on the net and pages of threads here as well, nothing yet. So I'm casting it to the cosmos to see what it lands me.
It's Canadian built (I'm finding this makes things more challenging as the Canadian crew didn't hold on to their records as extensively as America back in the day). It emerged from the hands of it's makers late in December of '48 in Oshawa Ontario.
The colour code number on the VIN tag is stamped 830.
I've got a hunch someone out there in the great virtual universe can relay a nugget of useful truth about this!
Can only hope eh?!

The Canadian trucks are far more documented than ones built in the US. If you contact Vintage Vehicles Services, they will provide production numbers, paint colour information along with much more than you expect.
